Some Good Things in the Sanuki Region
It is well known that the representing taste of Kagawa Prefecture is its Sanuki udon.
On the other hand, there is also the renowned taste of Tenobe-somen noodles from the local islands. But Sanuki's representative foods are far from limited to noodles. There are a number of important foods spread throughout the area, imbibed with the richness of the Sanuki Plains and the joy of the Seto Inland Sea. On top of that, Kagawa is proud of its Sanuki lacquer ware, including those in the styles of Kinma, Zonsei, Choshitsu, Gotonuri, and Zokokunuri. Handmade uchiwa fans or traditional kiri-geta shoes are handmade using pleasurable textiles. Other souvenirs and local goods such as lacquered papier-mache, one-knife carvings, a lion mask and a papier-mâché doll, world-renowned Aji stone, bonsai, and Japanese gloves, are imparted to you from this land of Sanuki Fuji.
